We plan to bring our pet dog, a pekingese named Alfa, from Ukraine to America as a carry-on in the airplane cabin.  I searched everywhere for information regarding exactly how to do this but much of it is conflicting.  Does anyone have experience doing something similar?  We plan to fly on Lufthansa from Ukraine to Germany to Chicago, USA.  It will be a one-way trip.

Pets that meet the following qualifications can travel in the passenger cabin:

• Only domesticated dogs and cats are allowed.
• Your pet can comfortably remain in its kennel, under the seat for the entire flight.
• The maximum weight of animal and kennel is 18 lb/8 kg and may be a maximum of 55cm X 40cm X 20cm or 22in x 16in x 8in.
• The kennel is specifically made for animal carriage and can fit under the seat.
• Your pet has all necessary health documents required by your destination
