    electronic whizbangery

Did anyone watch National Treasure: Book of Secrets and do you remember the part where the guy was in the public restroom at Buckingham Palace and hacked everything with his electronic gadgets?  Where and how does one learn to do stuff like that?

I know know how marketable the skills would be (I suffer too much secret self-recrimination to turn to a life of crime), but I want to be able to do that.  I'd feel like Batgirl.

    LOL.

I guess I got that "hide secret directives in a forum post" experiment right.  ;)

Both.  When I was in third grade, I asked for a magnifying glass for my birthday.  I was determined that I was going to find some clues to something.  :)

    Re: electronic whizbangery

I have seen these books! (for programming) and even had some classes, he-he. I don't know, maybe because there was always someone who was faster-better than me with writing programs, and the level I was did not give me much positive emotions about all that things - so I never considered it as something interesting.

I think it is not late to start studying programming for anybody with analytical mind though, but as I remember my student life -  the "hackers" were helping each other a lot by sharing the idea they have, algorithms they knew from someone else, they were very educational environment for each other. Without all this it is difficult to keep on adoring programming, imo. But maybe some friendly forums can play this role for someone who is not at school or club where everyone is into it.

Yikes.  I may not be able to master this, but it will be fun to try.  I will look into those forums.  Thank you, Mouse.  :)

Maybe I just could just buy these gadgets.  Or even better, get a sidekick who can do this stuff.  Anyone want to hunt treasure/fight crime/etc.?  We could wear capes....
