Re: Western women and husbands from FSU countries
I am one of the few guys on here that have been married to both an american woman and a ukrainian woman. All I can say for sure is my own personal experience. After 24 years of marriage to my American wife, having built up a business "empire" (2 Furniture Stores and 2 Restaurants), paying for every single thing she ever wanted and more, spoiling my two daughters with anything they could ask for, sending both to expensive out of state colleges, vacations to any spot my wife desired, any clothes, any car, any house..... totally 100% faithful, christian man. My reward, you may ask????
Cheated on me during my marriage with a warehouse worker, spend $1.25 for every dollar I could ever earn, paid her credit card debt of $30-40,000 off three times, (yes, Three) And lest we forget, little to NO sex for about 8 years. Put up with her continual psychosis (prozac, Xanax) and a constant host of excuses about why she just didn't feel well.
She was living with this guy within 30 days of our divorce being final. I guess she got over her sexual and emotional problems the day she signed the paper taking half my money away. Amazing what one million will do for a woman.
You wanna know how I feel .... go to nomarriage.com
I have had plenty of friends with the same experience, but there are a few who let good women go. So, not all american women are bad and not all good. But most all are takers in one way or another. Maybe we all are......
Then I met my Ukrainain lady. A Totally different kind of woman. Cares how I feel. Doesn't spend money unless it's on something we need. Loves to save money. Took good care of herself and how she looks. Is three times a lady compared to my american wife. Actually wants to please me. Appreciates the hard work we do to earn money and treats it accordingly... I could go one here for a while. Doesn't want to take prozac and Xanax to stabilise her emotions. Loves to be intimate. But all the time also making her own feelings knows to me. Demands I respect her and treat her well. I can live with that. It's what I wanted to do anyway. And she would just kick my a@@ if I wasn't good to her. I love her to death.
No going back for me.

Re: Western women and husbands from FSU countries
I wonder how we can determine the likelihood that Mkgilstrap's experience could happen exactly in reverse. Because the overgeneralized "American woman" syndrome is spreading to russian/ukrainian/etc women very quickly. Especially younger ones, and living in larger cities. There are always differences, but they are becoming more and more subtle.
I personally, always knew I would not be married until middle age (personal choice), but I've had long-term relationships with american women lasting longer then some marriages, and have never really had one with a Russian woman, though I know them well :) And.. The good/bad qualities described by Mkgilstrap were always a matter of individual personality of the woman for me, I don;t dispute that the likelihood may be different, but I think we've all known high maintenace, bitchy, cold-blooded russian women and loving, and intimately devoted American ones.
I guess I don;t often see the general difference between an average russian and american woman exceed the difference between 2 completely random individual women regardless of nationality and culture. As a result, I don't even frame my thoughts that way - each woman starts with an average score and earns her own "points" with me. A major loss of points (and maybe I am wrong on this and need to reconsider) would be abandoning her family and country without (yet) having fallen in love, with the inability to immediately earn her living and fend for herself in a strange country, and not even knowing the language. I see this as an abandonment of values, willingness to depend on others, and the redefinition of happiness in terms of money (since all other immediate avenues of happiness - culture, family, friends, are really being completely abandoned). But again, these are overgeneralizations, I would have to get to know the individual. Its very tough to make up these rules and be right.

mk - you never mentioned you were a millionaire. Hell, I'd marry you.
You have to be the exception. Successful businessman with hot Russian wife (everything I don't have....lol).
Your last lesson to enjoying all the wonderful things you have earned is to forgive your American wife that cheated on you. Forgiveness is your last step towards Enlightenment.
Her actions only reflect on her. Not on you. Yuu are a winner.

personaly, I don;t see any difference between russian and american women or men for that matter . I see differences in cultures, but not in people. and now it's time to get nasty - Dasha should be the last person making accusations here

Thank you Mr. Bond. I still feel bitter about it all. Betrayed is a better word I guess I haven't reached "Enlightenment" However, I have moved on and Natasha has my deepest love and affection, along with my whole heart. So live and let live.

I made no accusations. I said that 412 shouldn't be calling the kettle black. He made plenty of generalizations on this forum. Mostly about how Russia (Moscow especially) is so great and America is so inferior.
As for your counter, 412, you can keep it running indefinitely. I am not going to go through your old posts to dig up examples. Partly because the search function sucks but mostly because I just don't care enough about proving anything here. I made a statement, y'all did your usual thing.

Using your own logic, your "fallacy" is in making generalizations.

Re: Western women and husbands from FSU countries
Well,
I do not know about 412’s love for generalizations.. I guess all of us (on this forum and on others) have this problem. The way some people can present their own personal experience and create the whole theory is amazing.
You know, I also can tell my story ‘of betrayal, forgiveness and understanding’. But I won’t, I know one thing - we all played at least small part in that ‘ play’we call marriage, and we all guilty of something. It still hurts, I know…But please, stop this nonsense about good and bad Women based on their place of birth, or I will say, that there are no good Men on both sides of Atlantic, since I had bad personal experience with some of them.
I agree with Egor about some women (from our former country), which got married to Americans. I too, have very little compassion toward them. And I have same level of emotions toward Russian men marrying American women. I know two men who used marriage to come to live here – they both have very negative opinions about their ex-wives. They could be very helpful in building theory about American women.

if I recall correctly 412 never made such statements, it was probably me or some one else

That was basically my point all along. I don't understand why there was a need to get so defensive about it.

never ever? wow. well, as I said, I could go through the old posts and find something but I just don't have the time right now. If it matters so much, I will do it though. ... and yeah, you too, and me, and other people. Who doesn't generalize? I just think that lecturing someone about generalizations that don't agree with one's point of view while making other generalizations from time to time is a double standard.
