SheV,
Where in Augusta does your brother live? Times05, what profession are you working on through the army? I've been living in Augusta for the last 8 months, and although I do know that there are some Russians here (mostly women who are married to American men) there is no community or anything of the sort.

Augusta, things to do, russian community.
I'm in army school for Satellite Communications (I think that's how it's spelled heh). Basically making sure communications are up either at a strategic stationary base or a tactical van/truck type of thing. Seemed like interesting when I signed up, now it really doesn't...
As far as russian community here I can see now for myself it doesnt' really exist. Some disturbing stuff I've heard though. Just went to get an oil change at this mechanic shop, so the guy started talking to me, asking where I'm from and what not. Well I told him I was russian (ukrainian really they don't know the difference). He started going off on how russian women are hot... how his buddy is married to a young russian girl (himself being in 40s), how he himself "helps" russian high school exchange students (didn't know such a thing existed), and how a few girls wanted to sleep with him and such. Normally I would dismiss it as he's just bragging about something that never happened, complete bs, but then he started naming these pure russian female names and last names that no american would really know. Names of cities in Russia (small cities in the middle of nowhere), made it kind of believable.
The whole thing freaked me out a bit, almost like a "slave trade" type of deal going on around here. Not cool.
Then again he might have been bsing.
I got to run. Thanks again for replying.
